Key points
- A no-deposit bonus gives you a small amount of bonus money or free spins without a payment.
- Expect a low maximum cash-out, wagering on any winnings, and identity checks before a withdrawal.
- Many casinos require a deposit before your first withdrawal, even from a no-deposit bonus. Read the terms.
- It is not risk-free cash. It is a trial with strict limits.
How a no-deposit bonus works
After registration, and often after verifying your email or phone, the casino credits a small bonus, such as €10, or a set of free spins. Winnings are held as bonus money until you meet the wagering requirement, and the amount you can withdraw is usually capped.
Worked example
You receive €10 of bonus money with 40× wagering and a €50 maximum cash-out.
- Wagering is 40 × €10 = €400 of bets on eligible games.
- On slots with 96% RTP, the expected loss on €400 of bets is about €16, more than the €10 bonus. On average the balance runs out before wagering ends.
- If your balance reaches €180 after wagering, the €50 cap applies and €130 is removed.
- The terms may also require identity verification and a minimum deposit before the €50 is paid out.
Conditions to check
- Wagering multiple and eligible games
- Maximum cash-out and maximum bet
- Expiry, often 24 hours to 7 days
- Verification steps and any deposit needed before withdrawal
- One offer per person, household, IP address or device
- Country eligibility. Many regulators restrict or ban such offers.
Why identity checks matter here
No-deposit offers attract abuse, so casinos check identity carefully before paying out. Opening several accounts to claim the same offer breaks the terms and usually leads to confiscated winnings. Licensed operators must also verify age and identity under national rules.
